About Us

About Us

Stay Home Safely was born when two long-term friends and dedicated physical therapists came together with one idea in mind: to help people stay safe and independent in their own home through home modifications and exercise.

We embarked on this adventure at Stay Home Safely, LLC with our clients' needs leading the way. When asking these individuals where they wish to live, the overwhelming response is simply "in my own home." We wanted to make this wish a reality.

Our mission is to provide individuals with the opportunity to safely and independently remain in their home for as long as possible through home modifications. Our background and training as licensed physical therapists gives us a unique perspective on how this can best be achieved.

Home modifications can range from small changes such as re-arranging rug and furniture layouts and installing grab bars, to even larger modifications such as relocating a master bedroom and bath to the main floor. Stay Home Safely will provide you with a thorough home assessment to determine your specific needs. We will then work with you to make sure the job is completed in a timely and aesthetically pleasing fashion.

Exercise and strength training are another key component to helping people stay safe and independent in their homes. We provide in home physical and occupational therapy as well as the Otago balance program which is endorsed by the CDC. Studies demonstrate that the Otago Exercise Program is shown to reduce falls and fall related injuries by 35-40%.

As Julie’s love of home design grew, she began to imagine how she could combine it with her love of OT. In her searching, she found Stay Home Safely, and knew it was the perfect step in her journey to help others. Julie lives in Arnold, MD and is a mom of 4.
